Holy Crap! It's Friday Here!
Sorry about being MIA the last few days, but it's finals week, and my old bossman needed help in his store, AND I still have to put in my time at the Zod. How many days have I been on for? Oh, yes. Seven. And I still have to work later on, I suppose today, considering it's 12:15am at this very moment. If I get called in on Saturday, I'm going to kill myself. Ugh. I hate retail. Why am I working in a store? Oh, yeah, because I have no other skills, and I don't have a degree yet.
Joy.
So, lets talk TV.
First up, Gilmore Girls. WHAT THE HELL IS ASP'S PROBLEM????????? Why is she doing this to all of us? I honestly think that this season as a whole wasn't that great. It had some really great moments, like Mrs. Kim threatening Zach with the hellbeasts, Lane finally getting a real boyfriend, Finn, my wonderful, fantabulous Finn, and the LL stuff.
Correction, the LL stuff that they let us see.
We have been waiting FIVE freaking years for Luke and Lorelai to finally stop dancing around each other. And we finally get it, and I feel like it all happened behind the scenes, and I missed a lot. And I've seen every single episode this season. So I don't understand why I am feeling unfullfilled by the relationship that I have been rooting for since the opening of episode one. Oh, wait, could it be because while they are together, finally, we have yet to get an 'I love you' beyond that dance at the vow renewal? (Letting your actions speak to a guy? What the hell is she thinking? Men don't infer. If they did, they would be women, and... ew. Luke in a dress? Ew.)
And Rory. Where do I start? We began this season with her entering into an adulterous relationship. (Aren't we proud?) And correct me if I'm wrong, but did she ever really, truly learn her lesson? She just seemed okay with the fact that she slept with another woman't husband. As someone who was cheated on, I think that women like that, who don't feel some sort of remorse for their wrongdoing are scum. But I spent four years liking Rory. And I wasn't willing to give that up. So I gave her a chance. And what did she do with it? She started dating Dean again. Ew.
I Hate Dean. He is a schmuck. He is the scum under the scum under the scum of the earth. (Can you tell that I found out about said bastard boyfriend two and half weeks before the finale of four aired?) I don't understand why he keeps going after Rory. And I don't understand why she's always going back to him. He always seems to find ways of breaking up with her that are public and humiliating. (Anniversaries, Dance Marathons, Mating Rituals set up by the grandparents...) I hope that since he and Jensen Ackles are getting a pilot, that means that he is out of the GG-verse forever.
And then, it was Logan. I hate Logan, almost as much as I hate Dean. (The Dean hatred has built up over the past five years, while the Logan hatred has only had a year to fester.) I hate that he is the cheap imitation of Tristan Dugrey. Honestly, when I first found out about the new guy, I was kind of interested in him. Then I saw him. I saw what ASP was trying to do, and I didn't like it. She realized that she made a monumental mistake in letting CMM go, and this was the shoddy way to fix it.
The one and only bright spot in the Logan stuff is Finn. He is wonderful. He is super duper fabulous. And honestly, if he were real, he would probably tell you that too. I love and adore him, worship his awesomeness, and still can't believe that they aren't using him enough. They should make a spinoff of him and Colin. They crack me up.
That whole, 'I'm not the boyfriend type', with Logan sleeping with all kinds of women all over the place, followed quickly by 'I'll be your boyfriend' in BIAG seemed way out of character. It seemed more like the writers wanting to skip over a bunch of steps that we never got to see in order to have Rory meet the parents and be disapproved of.
And then the last eppie. Where do I start there? What the hell is Rory doing? She's committing grand theft? And for what? Because one guy said that she wasn't good enough? I'm sorry, but when people say that I'm not good enough, it usually makes me work extra hard to prove them wrong and then give me the chance to rub their noses in it. But she just gives up on every dream that she ever had? What if Lorelai had just given up and given in? Her own parents never believed in her. But she believed in herself, and she realized her wildest dream. So why is Rory all of a sudden turning her back on everything that Lorelai ever taught her? It seems way too out of character, even for her.
And where the hell did Mitchum Huntzberger get off telling her that she couldn't hack it. THat she couldn't go out and find a story? If my memory serves me right (and it does, photographic memorys rock!) Rory found out all about the LDB, and the fact that he, his father and his son were all members of it, though a phrase and a gorrilla mask. And she's not good enough? Excuse me sir, but you suck. Go back to where you came from, and take your retarded Tristanwannabe son with you.
Why can't Tristan come back and save the day? I would be so happy! It would make my year. I need Tristan to come back.
Come back Tristan! Come back!

AMEN sista and glad to see ya back!

I hope you get a true break soon. After finals? I remember the rush that was the end of semester. . Adding busy retail time to that, and wow. You must be superwoman. Or at least, supertired woman.
I agree with the GG rant. Who's watching OTH, anyway? I saw the promo to last weeks eppy, and I thought, that sounds more like fan fiction than a real show--it's not even advancing the plot. Did you see the promo? I've stopped watching. The last two SATC eppies were on, plus VM, which ROCKED!! by the way. Sigh.
Yeah, I'm disappointed in the Rory line. If you check out my blog, three posts ago, I did a picture anaylsis I thought you might enjoy. It proves your theory about Logan being brought in as a last ditch effort to bring back the Tristan-like character.
Hope you get some rest soon!
