Cinco de Mayo

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

I'm bored, and I needed something to celebrate today. I had nothing to do, as I finished all my schoolwork for the rest of the week yesterday, and I don't really want to start studying/writing my final exams yet. They aren't due for another two weeks, so I have time.

I got up today at 11:30am. I would have slept longer, but my brother was clodding all over the place, and he woke me up. I hate that. My brother is officially a fireman now. He got his first call tonight, and he's still actually there. He's happy, and I'm actually kind of proud of him. I just hope that he doesn't put his smoky smelly clothes anywhere near mine. The last thing I need is to smell like smoke. Ew.

He's all excited that he got the pager, and if he gets a call during school, he gets to leave and go fight the fire. It's kind of cool. At least, he thinks so. My mother just keeps thinking of Ladder 49. I've told her a million times, there are no buildings 20 stories high in the Poconos. He's not going to get caught in a huge building engulfed in flames. This fire was in someone's freestanding garage. But that's not stopping her from worrying. I guess that that's what Mothers do.

All I did today was bum around the house. I watched my soaps, (they all suck. Alison Sweeny needs to come back from maternity leave right now. This Stami stuff needs to stop. And Fox needs to stop pining for Whitney and go after Theresa again. They are perfect for each other. And they need to find a new Carley on GH. This new one sucks. We need a NunuCarley, like we got a NunuBelle on DOOL.)

I watched the old GG, and went on the computer, and surfed the web a little. I found a really great Logan/Veronica site, and it has a bunch of clips from the eppies. I sent the link to Amy, because they had 11 from A Trip to the Dentist, including that one with Duncan and Veronica, which was an amazing scene. Very powerful. (I never noticed just how blue Teddy Dunn's eyes were.

Oh, and Miel, I am totally with you on switching from OTH to VM. Everyone should do it. OTH was good last season, when it was about the brothers, and basketball, and how they cope with being thrown into each others lives. Now, the dynamic is completely different, and it's all about Nathan and Lucas pining over the girls they lost. Boo frickin hoo! I could care less. They have strayed so far away from the original concept that it's not the same show that I watched last season. It's not even good. And when was the last time they had a basketball game? Oh yeah, last year's season finale. Lucas is supposed to be sneaking around with these meds and the HCM so he can play, but when was the last time he picked up a basketball? I think the last time I saw him hold one was when his mom threatened to kill all his friends if they played with him.

Veronica Mars is SO much better. I thank Miel for bringing me out of my CMM haze, and showing me the light. VM is awesome, and the people are talented, and the dialogue is sharp, and the show is intelligent, and well made. I'm so much happier now that I'm watching VM.

Plus, if we all stop watching OTH, then they'll have to cancel it.

And maybe, just maybe, our beautiful (but stupid) HA will come back, and Tristan can steal Rory away from Logan, and all will be right with my world once again.

loved the clips. i watched all the ones from a trip to the dentist.

i agree on the OTH. it was good last year. it had a plot last year. This year, I watched two of the eppies and decided I was losing brain cells. I was turning up the volume when CMM was onscreen and turning it down the rest of the hour. Then SATC on TBS got bumped to 9pm from 10pm and I stopped flipping back to the WB from 9-10 altogether. Sigh.

Ooh, and I saw 'Logan' from VM (blanking on his RL name) on Roswell on Sci-Fi today. He was just as cute back then. I was flipping through, saw him and stopped.Got all excited and watched them go on and on about Colin Hanks' character's death, hoping it was more than a tiny bit part. You guys have passed your love for this boy on.

Enjoy your down time! I know I am (updated WATIW for you).

Ooh, and now you can see why I fell in love with Graham/Duncan? Those eyes... Irresistable.

I'm just glad that we got to see some emotion/acting range out of Duncan. You could see from the moment he crumpled to the ground that he did (and still does) love Veronica. I just hope that it doesn't get to be difficult for Logan and Duncan to be friends again.
