Wi-Fi Woes

I swear to God, I thought I was going to kill my brother this weekend.

He decided that he needed the net on his comp too. But rather than be like me, and go out and get a cable modem box and install it, he decides that the whole house should go wireless.

Dumbass.

Let's start off with the fact that no one in this house is particularly tech savvy. I know I'm not. And considering that my mom still types with her index fingers, and my dad only knows how to check his email, I'm pretty much the computer expert in the family. It's very sad, I know.

My brother falls into a completely different category though. He falls into the 'I have no knowledge but I'm an idiot and like to talk out of my but and ruin everything for everyone rather than hire a professional to do it category.

Dumbass.

So, he starts off by hooking up the Wi-Fi box to my parents comp, but the cable modem wasn't current enough to be compatible. So I come home on Saturday night after an extremely stressful day at work to find that he has taken it upon himself to hook his stupid peice of crap up to my baby. And that now, because the brain trust didn't read the directions before getting down and unplugging things, I don't have the internet.

I swear, if there weren't people in the house, the boy would have been on the floor in a bloody puddle. I wanted to beat him to death with the stupid modem. But I controlled myself, because my mother tells me that it worked fine before. Well, my baby worked fine when I installed Sims2, but it didn't mean that after I shut it down and went to turn it back on that I wasn't out 300 dollars for a fix from the comp doc. Plus the cost of the game.

So now, I have figured out that if I want to get on the internet, I have to get down on the floor, yank out a filing cabinet that weighs more than I do, and unplug my baby from the wall, then replug, and restart.

If it doesn't get fixed by tomorrow, I'm removing it and throwing it out the window and into the street. Because I really don't want to have to keep doing that each and every time that I want to go online. I'll go crazy.

So, if anyone was missing me these past few days, blame the brother.

I know I am.

Katherine

No wonder why you've been missing recently. Missed ya. Well, if we were closer, I would send Nilly to rectify the problem. That's at least the one thing we have in this house: wireless!

Of course we missed you!

We went wireless, evidently your brother and my husband share hair-brained ideas. I was SOL for days when he hooked it up, til his comp geek friend came over and fixed it.

But now it's nice to be on the cable modem and take it anywhere. I will say that.

ps. thanks for the warm wishes. much, much appreciated.

Hello?

*looks around*

Do we need to come to your house and hurt your brother?

Just checking. You're missing some interesting stories btwn M and me, and our slutty early years.

And some of us would like to hear your thoughts on new our new stories.

You know, not that I'm needy or anything.
