An Odd Duck
I really am an odd person.
At least I think so.
Is it weird that I have just made a cd with Lifehouse, Dirty Vegas, 9 Days, Chantal Kreviazuk, Crossfade, Nina Gordan, Delta Goodrem, Andy Stochansky, and Godsmack?
I think that's a little weird. But maybe not.
What do you think?
I went to work today, after two glorious days off, and the first thing out of Nor's mouth is 'We have to have a chat.'
Uh oh.
When Nor says those words, you know that you are in deep shit. And she wasn't even sitting on her bitching post. (A really tall ladder in the storeroom.) We got out secret shop score back, she says, and the bottom drops out of my stomach. Uh oh, I think. I've been in this kind of funk for the past few weeks, from stretching myself too thin with work and classes and home and friends. And I kind of took it out at work. I wasn't as nice as I usually am, and I was a bit short with people. For a while.
So I am terrified.
She says that I got shopped, and that Mike wants to talk with me. That he's not happy. So I'm like, OH GOD, I'M GONNA DIE! Or worse, get fired. Because I love my work peeps. I don't wanna leave them. Which is why I kept this job when I have my other summer job. So now, I'm practically hyperventillating, thinking that I'm about to be canned because braniac me decided to be rude to the wrong person.
Then she tells me that we got a 100%.
I nearly died.
100 is the best score you can possibly get on a secret shop. I swear, my heart stopped for a second, before it started again, with me jumping up and down and yelling "Evil! Evil evil evil evil evil evil evil evil!!!!!!! Over and over again until a customer came in and I had to shut up.
That was so mean. The shop was on Monday, and I was so thrilled. I was in a good mood on Monday. So I was nice to people. And, on Monday, we didn't have very many people, and the people that we did have weren't stupid. Meaning they weren't New Yorkers. (And I'm a native NYer, so I'm allowed to say that.) I was so glad.
You know, I've been working for this company for three years now, and we get secret shopped every three months, and I've never been SSed before. Not once. So for my first shot out to be a homer, I'm very glad.
I'm off to go write some more.

Aw, she shouldn't be so mean to you! Glad to hear you scored so well! You really seem to like the people you work with--if not all the grubby customers. It's nice to be acknowledged like that.
I can't wait to read all the fics. . . I'm just so relieved the majority of mine is done. Unless M hates it and tells me to start completely over from scratch. :(
And just for you, I'm working on WATIW tonight :)

Congratulations! I'd be hyperventillating, too, if I were in your shoes. The SS was really cool. Maybe a pay raise is next?
I just got home and I am itching to read Amy's story. I know I am going to love it. However, I have to finish putting the cherry on top of mine first, send it to A for review, then I'll be forwarding the story to you.
Maybe A and I can make your day in one day!
A, can't wait for WATIW update!
