Doing Our Part

So, I visited M's blog, and was really upset by what I found.

CHANGING VERONICA MARS!!???!!!

TARA RIED!!!!???!!!!!!????!!!!!!

OLDER LOVE INTEREST!!!??!!????!!!!!

KILLING OFF A CHARACTER!!!???!!!!??!!

DISTANCING V FROM THE BOYS?!!!!???!!!

I'm sorry, but what the hell is RT thinking? This show is a television gem in the sea of all the reality show garbage and sex comedys and the latest attempt to recreate Friends. The people spoke last year, and obviously, liked it enough to save it from televison exile. So why would they slap us all in the face by changing the dynamic?

I did follow the advice, and emailed RT. I suggest that everyone else do the same, and save whoever that they want to kill. I have a strange fear that it will be Logan, and he CANNOT DIE!!! I can't lose another bad boy. Tristan was enough for one lifetime. (and having to watch him on OTH is too much to take. It just compounds the pain.)

Here's what I wrote to Rob Thomas, in case you need a little bit of help in writing your own letter to him. Please write to him! It's not too late to save the little show that could!

Dear Rob Thomas,

I was searching for spoilers for the upcoming seasons of the shows I am addicted to, with Veronica Mars being one of them. I became addicted to the show early on. It is very rare that you find a show that is so intelligently written, so beautifully paced, and with characters that are interesting, compelling, and amazing all in one neat package. I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every episode.

With that being said, I found some spoilers that really disturbed me, a hopelessly addicted viewer. I was upset when I heard that you were going to distance Veronica from some of the other characters, and kill off one more. I read all the transcripts from Watch With Kristen, and I really hope that some of these are just rumors set up to keep the Spoiler Junkies like myself off track. Because honestly, the chemistry between the characters, ESPECIALLY Logan and Veronica is amazing, and in my opinion unparalleled by many other television couples. I would really hate it if the wonderful offbeat, quirkily intelligent feel of the show was messed around with solely to make the powers that be happy.

Veronica Mars is a television gem, and when it was in danger of going off the air, fans like myself rallied together to stop that from happening, because we all felt that the show was worth saving. That the cast was worth saving. The whole cast, not just Kristen Bell, but Jason Dohring, Teddy Dunn, Percy Daggs, and Francis Capra. They all share such amazing relationships, and honestly, the way that all the characters interacted with each other, not just with Veronica, made the show so great.

I would hate it if this amazing show's dynamic was changed, and I'm positive that I'm not alone in saying this. There are so few intelligent shows on television, who showcase how life is without the sugarcoating and sensationalism, and it would be a real and true shame to lose yet another one.
