Gimme an 'S' !

This is because M told me to get into gear and update. Oh, and M, as long as you promise never to do it again, I'll only make you watch Glitter once. The duct tape is still being negotiated.

So, my brother is graduating on Friday.

My mom and I went to his athletics awards banquet tonight. It was interesting. We were late, as always, and ended up getting stuck at a table with two of my former gym teachers and a husband and a woman who was giving an athletics scholarship out.

The food sucked. The beef was really dry, and the rolls were very stale. The veggies were good. And the poppyseed dressing on the salad was good. That's about it. We had to get pizza on the way back so as not to starve. I knew that the food would be terrible though. We went to C-Back, the premiere ski slope/water park in the area. It's actually the best mountain in the Poconos, in my opinion. Plus, C-Beach is pretty great. It was featured on the Travel channels countdown of the best parks you're not going to. It was actually pretty high up there. Plus, when you watch, the filmed on a day that Peej was lifeguarding. He gets all smug and posey whenever anyone mentions it, cuz there's like six shots of him in the video.

Anyway.

Other than that, Mommie and I had fun. I was a good 'date' as she fondly referred to me, since Daddy was off at Eri's swim meeting, and didn't want to sit in the plastic chairs at C-Back. For the life of me, I don't know how I managed to stand those stupid things for the years that I skiied. They are the worst chairs ever. But then, I spent more time with my tooshie on the slopes than on my skis. So I may have been to bruised and battered to notice.

We watched, and made comments on each and every award and presentation. I was really good when it came to the soccer peeps. Not one single mock. My old gym teacher, who was sitting across the table from me, was the coach of the boys soccer team.

I got a little verklempt when I found out the Menchy is leaving. He was my freshman history teacher, and has been at Sburg for like ever. 15 years, to be exact. He's the X country coach. I loathe running. That damn asthma just doesn't like to cooperate with it. But next year, he'll be gone. That makes me sad. I liked him.

And the Spinn doctor himself is abandoning us as well! Our wrestling coach is an Sburg institution, and he's stepping down, because soon he will retire. The man has been at Sburg for 35 years. I loved how he said that in his 35 years, he is the most proud that when we wrestled Eburg, the score stands as Eburg 4 , Sburg 31. (Eburg is the uber rival team. They are the RedSox to our Yankees. The Elton to our Madonna. The Hilary to our Lindsay. Okay, I'm done.) I have a feeling that that new gym is gonna have his name on it. And he most definately deserves it. Out of of all the sports, our wrestling team is one of the best not only in the area, but in the state as well. And it's because of him, and his amazing coaching.

My bro doesn't wrestle. Nor does he play soccer, (a cult much like scientology and marching band.) or Tennis, or even field hockey. (even though that's not allowed any more. We had a guy on the FH team a few years ago, and a lot of the other teams got their bloomers in a twist about it, and now, no boys in FH in the conference.) What does he do? He's on the rifle team. Yep, Sburg is one of the few in the state to have a shooting range, and a team to use it. And not only is my bro on it, but he got the award for MVP on the team. Yep, my mom can now say that Sburg says that her kid is the best shot in the school. Isn't she proud. ( she actually is. And it's not like he's gonna go on a shooting rampage. He'd run someone over with the bronco before that happens.)

I worked in the morning. Then at 2 the clouds rolled in and NE Pa got stormed. A lot of places a bit further north don't have power. I was so hoping that power in the store would go out, and I could leave early. That would have been nice. But no. I didn't mind, since I was only scheduled to work from 10-3. But I wasn't gonna drive home in the thunder and lightening and torrential rain, so I ended up staying til like 4ish. Nicoley and I discussed what shows should come out on DVD soon. I'm definately buying the VM s1 set. I got plans made. But I also really want Jack and Jill to come out. Does anyone even remember that show? I was in love with Jill. Ivan Sergei is just so hot. I loved him on CJ too. I'm sad he left. Hawaii, I tried it, but honestly, the previews were the best part of the whole show. The rest sucked. Here's to hoping that he finds an non crap pile show or movie to be in next.

Yay! An update!

I think I can sit through Glitter one more time. The last and only time I saw it, I was with 2 other girlfriends, enibriated as we are, pulling a Mystery Science Theater commentary by muting the show and making up the dialogue. Care to do the same? I promise you it's a ton of fun. But yes, this'll be the only time I'm pulling a Trogan without it ending in a Trory.

And big wow. I was in the marching band and soccer team. The Nill-meister was in wrestling. So, are we in the hairy balls category?

Congrats on your bro's award. I bet he deserved it.

Lastly, didn't the storm suck? I know I was glad I wasn't on the road when it came in. Some days off are best spent sleeping in.

Trogan. Wow. There's a word.

And what, pray tell, is wrong with Marching Band? This one time, at band camp. . . I tell those stories!! I was in it four years, all in of which in the Color Guard, and the last two I was on the rifle line. Albeit wooden rifles, and we threw them, not shot them off. Heh. I guess we all sucky hairy balls. Who knew?

I miss summer storms. It's like 60 and cloudy here. Wait. It's always like 50-60 and cloudy here. My mistake.

There's nothing wrong with Marching band. Or soccer, for that matter. I lived in the music department for all 4 years of HS, and a lot of my friends were in marching band. I even had a few friends in soccer too.

But SHS MB is a big deal. It's actually a nationally ranked MB, and has trophies and plaques covering walls and walls and walls. When you are in marching band, you are in marching band. Practice is 6 days a week, and you eat, breathe, sleep and sweat marching band. Your life revolves around it. Same with soccer. Have you ever noticed that as soon as one soccer league ends, another has just popped up to take it's place? ANd it's always filled with the same kids.

That's what I meant about it being a bit cultish. Soccer peeps are in soccer. It's their life. And MB is the same way.

ANd you don't suck big hairy balls. That is reserved for the evil cult members. Like TC. And Wygantua. (Evil Marching band guy I knew.)

Wow, your school HAS a cult. LMAO. Nah, my school's marching band was the embarrassment to the Victoria Day Parade (in BC) when we had prom the night before. Trying to assemble the seniors in the band was classic, to say the least.

OLY believed in being mediocre. One sport/team/band only. Overachievers were the wrestling/football people. Our football team sucked but the wrestling team was ranked. They even had their own "sexy" calendar made for a fund raiser.

The rest of the school wanted to believe they lived the world of "Stand and Deliver" or "Dangerous Minds".
