Lady of Leisure

I did absolutely nothing this weekend.

No schoolwork.

No retail work.

Zip.

Zero.

Nada.

Well, that's not true. I just didn't do any of the things that I should have been doing. I didn't work on my final papers. I begged and pleaded my way out of my on call hours, telling my boss that if I came in that there was a very big likelyhood that someone would die, and it would probably be the first customer that asked me for a fitting room. Nor laughed, and granted my request, knowing that I was really near the end of my rope with that place.

On Saturday, I spent some quality time with my grandmother. We haven't hung out in a long time, and even though it was really just running around, doing errands, it was really nice to just spend time with her. I see the woman every day, since she lives next door, but I've been so busy, and she's still working at the hospital, so we haven't had much time the last few months.

She needed some of the little odds and ends stuff, so we went to Walmart. On a Saturday. Usually, just thinking about the people in Walmart give me hives. There's just too much going on there. I feel funny buying my movies and my Venus refills in the same place that I can purchase fabric to make my quilts. And did I mention that the people there give me hives? I was trying to find my Secret Platinum in unscented and this lady with a really lazy eye came up to me and asked me if her plums looked alright. I don't think she washed her hair since the bicentennial, and she had some major dirt under her fingernails when she thrust these two plums in my face.

I fled. I ran away like a little girl. (It doesn't seem to have as much of an affect as it does when a guy says that he ran like a little girl.) But me and Grandma got out alive, and with nearly everything that we were going in for (there was no way in hell that a stick of deoderant was worth being cornered by Crazy again!) We went to lunch and I got a bunch of movies. So yay!

Then today, I slept until 12:30pm. I haven't slept that late since last year, when I went to church at night. But we went Sat night, so I think I'm safe from the fiery pits of hell this week. When I woke up, Eri and I lounged around on my bed, and watched two Lifetime movies that revolved around weddings. But we came in the middle of the end of the one, and the end of the beginning of the other, so I have absolutely no idea what either title was. However, both were cute.

Then, after the second, we decided we were hungry, so rolling out of bed, we made cheesy fries, and ate them on the deck. (ensconced in the shade of the umbrella, I'm not taking the chance of burning agian!) It was really nice to sit out on the deck with my baby sis, hanging out and reading HP books, listening to Josh Groban and Michael Buble.

And the SF of Crossing Jordan was tonight. MAN OH MAN! I am so annoyed that Jordan finally told Woody how she felt, and he doesn't believe her. He thinks that she pities him. IDIOT!!! (ANd I'm not just talking about him. SHe's stupid too! How could she wait til then? How did she not throw herself at him when he gave her a diamond ring? It was a very nice ring. I would have given it up for that ring.) And I can't believe that Macy is leaving. Harry Winkler, I hate you! I loved the Fonze as much as everyone else, but this new character is about as unFonzylike as you get.

Yet another SF that I am going to be upset over. I hope that Medium is better.

Can't believe you like Medium. Gack! It's Medium! Why can't you like Tru Calling instead? :P

I think ppl in Walmart ARE supposed to give you hives. it's a necessary hazard. I try my best to stay away from Walmart unless it's my final resort. C'mon, nothing here is open past midnight other than the Walmart! Eeek! But I digress. I buy my cross stitch stuff from there.

Glad to know you had a great lazy day. We all need those kinds of days.

Say hi to the grandma for us. we all need to spend quality time with people we love.

Later!
M

PS. So with school almost over for the summer, are you going to be updating The Last?

you go girl!

I think I'm down to actually watching three shows: Everwood, VM (which has sf already), and GG. And I only watch EW every now and then, and only 'saw' the last two or three eppies of VM. I used to be glued to the tube. oh well. there used to be a must-see-tv night, too.

as for the evils of wal-mart--you are correct. it's like the dregs of the universe are always roaming about. you'd think they paid scary people to hang out there all day. i went there today as well (for shame, i know). I get my latch hook and knitting stuff there, lol. if only target had a crafts section. . .
