My Very Own Soundtrack

Okay, I suppose I have to do this. You know, since I force the group to do these more often than not, and this one seems pretty cool. Very well done Ames! I'm definately going to have a lot more fun with this one than trying to think up evil things about my imaginary mother in law!

So, I believe the rules are songs that remind us of people or events in our lives? Okay, here goes...

  1. Valse Triste, Jean Sibelius- The first piece of music I not only memorized, but could play through without screwing up.
  2. Remember Me This Way, Jordan Hill- My first slow dance.
  3. The Way I Am, Eminem- Every time I hear this song, I think of my former BFF and former tennis doubles partner. I miss who she was, but I'm glad not to be around the person she's become. We won our first match to this song, and every single one after that.
  4. Selfish, N SYNC- There was a time, when I was misguided enough to enjoy this kind of music. Even though I pretty much detest them now, I still hear this song, and any others of theirs and think of my friend Meg, who loved them as much as I did, and went to the concert with me all those years ago.
  5. Faith, Limp Bizkit- Part of the cd that we blasted at top volume on our way to the N SYNC concert. We scared all the little teeny bopper kids to death playing this!
  6. When I Look to the Sky, Train- I hear this and think of my grandfather. He probably would have hated it. And there in lies the irony.
  7. California Girls, The Beach Boys- My very first CD rant in the Zod. Sigh, good times.
  8. I Stand Alone, Godsmack- Bossman Matt, all the way.
  9. Moon River, Henry Mancini- He didn't sing it, but he is the genius behind on of my all time faves. And now, it's my song with Finn, courtesy of a late night chatfest with Ames, which proves just how insane we are when we share that brain.
  10. Hands Down, Dashboard Confessional- The song that was playing during a very special time spent with Chris.
  11. Girl From Mars, Ash- Eri, my baby sis. I love her, and this is her song.
  12. Nookie, Limp Bizkit- These guys show up for the second time, for Keith, asshole that he is, since he was only out for just one thing.
  13. Waiting for a Star to Fall, Boy Meets Girl- The song that was playing during my first real kiss. Hearing it still makes me smile.
  14. Life Goes On, The Deuce Project- It played over and over the summer after I found out about Chris and the Cheerleader, and it made me realize that I could get along, and be strong, because life was going to go on without that bastard.
  15. Proud Mary, Aretha Frankin- Because when she sings this song, you have to stand up and dance. It's like, a law. Or should be, at least.
  16. La Vie en Rose, Edith Piaf- My favorite song. Sigh. I want to have a boy sing this to me someday, in Paris, walking hand in hand along the Siene in the moonlight, with an accordian playing somewhere in the distance. Sigh.

So, there you have it! My contribution to this really nifty little thing. It was fun, everyone else, GO!
