A New Gaget

So, I'm currently typing this post out in our living room, while watching A Christmas Story with my father.

Wait.

How, you may be wondering, am I able to do this when my trusty baby lives in my bedroom?

Well, I'm typing this out on my very own brand new laptop!!!!!

I was flabbergasted. I didn't put this on my list. I didn't think that I was a laptop person. I still don't know that. But I do have to say, that despite hating the keyboard and hating the fact that I have to use my other hand for the mouse, I'm loving the mobility that I have. I haven't been able to type in our living room since we moved the family computer out of the corner years ago.

It remains to be seen how this will affect my relationship with my trusty baby, who hasn't been too reliable lately. My parents want me to give it to my sister, but I remain unsure of what to do. I'll figure it out, I suppose.

But so far, other than a slight meltdown, I'm enjoying this. At least, I have been for the last hour, since I got it. This is pretty cool. Very neat.

I'll probably hate it tomorrow. That seems to be how this stuff works with me.

aww, you'll be hooked. it took me a few days to get used to the mouse, but now it's like butter! I mean, just being able to sit on the couch and watch TV while I'm typing... it's heaven. If only my 'baby' was working a bit better.

you got presents early? score! Hubby is big about waiting til Xmas day for all gifts. Nothing is to be opened early. :( no fun. But yea! for your fancy new gift!

Merry Christmas!!!!

Presents have been opened and I am one happy (and currently toasty) camper. After several shots of vodka, schnapps and whatever alcohol was offered tonight (in my coffee or otherwise) I drank.

Good job on the laptop. What is its name? Can Gwynnie play with it?

I'm still enjoying the thing. The keyboard is still weird, and so is the mouse thing, but it's very cool that I can sit and type this out while watching Phil of the Future with my sister down in the basement.

The laptop has yet to be named, but i think it might be a boy. I'm still waiting for it to confirm or deny this claim. Call it a maternal instinct, or something akin to that. Hopefully soon it will reveal all to me, and I can give her/him a name. And I'm sure that it will be excited to get a new friend, especially Gwynnie. Right now, all it has is the Brother's new laptop, and she's got an attitude problem. Maybe she doesn't like his Eagle Scout wallpaper or something. All I know is that my comp, what ever it's gender, is really enjoying it's Finn and Colin paper. And really, isn't that all that matters?

Merry Christmas to all!

I love my laptop, (even though it's a bit old) but I had to get a seperate mouse and key board, especially if I have to type something that's pretty long. The keyboard is just too uncomfortable and the lack of a numeric keypad, just horrible.
