The Veronicas

So, this post seems to be centered around two different Veronicas.

The first, being, Veronica Mars.

I got the DVD set for Season one today!!!!!!!

Woot!

I know, I'm giddy.

Bro and I went out to run errands today. And surprise! No bloodshed! I know, I was shocked too. We went to Target, and I got me my little stuffs, my cough drops in various flavors and varying degrees of effectiveness, a perty sparkly scarf pour moi, and I finally found a place that has my Secret Platinum in unscented! I know, this seems like something stupid to post, but when you have to search and search and you still come up empty handed, and then have to switch to a less effective deoderant because you don't want to smell like a flower every time you raise your arm, this is cause for celebration.

But, while Bro was picking up the new Bon Jovi for his GF, I was wandering around the movie section. And I saw VM on DVD, and I had to grab it. I just got my paycheck, and even though it's a big on the spot splurge, I went for it. So, I am now the proud owner of the VM S1 DVD. Happy dances were performed in the middle of the aisle, and I was glad that no one saw me.

I have watched epidsodes 1-4, finally seeing the entire third eppie. I'm happy about that. I'd only seen the second half for like, forever. It makes much more sense now.

Sorry, had to post it. Don't they look good together? Don't they fit? Why is she with Duncan when she can have screenkisses come off like this?

Okay, now onto Veronica #2.

She, is a very, very different Veronica.

First off, she's real.

Or, she was, as she's been dead for quite awhile now.

Her name was really Constance Ockleman, but we all know her as the late, semi-great, Veronica Lake.

Why am I occupying my time with a long since buried once popular movie star?

I'll tell you.

Once upon a time, during a very long and random chat with Ames, I mentioned having to find a movie star for Miss Celine to call Mollie by. There were several different options weighed, but in the end, unless someone better comes along, this is who she is. The look in this pic is so Mollie. I saw this pic, and I saw Mollie sitting at the poker table, surrounded by the guys.

She was kicking their asses all over the place.

Also, this is kind of what I envisioned Mollie to look like, in my head. Not one of the stepford kiddies in Application Anxiety! But also, Veronica Lake was very much known for her hair, as her nickname was 'the girl with the peek-a-boo bang'. Mollie, in my head, has this kind of hair. And, she's a tragic kind of character too. Mollie'll love that.
