A Year in Review... only 5 days late!
So, it seems like just about everyone has one of these, and well, I'm a sheep. So here's my year in review! I'm totally stealing this from Raven, but she stole it too, so I'm thinking that I'm relatively safe.
1. What did you do in 2004 that you’d never done before?- I made some great friends in the FF world, as well as the real one, and actually plucked up enough courage to post some of my own writing for all the world to see!
2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?- Honestly, I don't even bother anymore. I always find some way of squirming my way out of them, or cheating somehow, so why bother?
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?- Not that I'm aware of, but a good friend of the family is pregnant, so I guess that I have one for next year!
4. Did anyone close to you die?- Yeah, my Grandpa passed away right before Christmas of Leukemia
5. What countries did you visit?- I can't even afford to leave Pa with what I make!
6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?- To regain some confidence that I lost with some past failed romances... and have a good bf for a change
7. What dates from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?- October 30, the day that I realized that I was falling for IZ Richard, the Tuesday after Turkey day, December 18, the day of my Grandfather's funeral, and April 21, the day that I figured out that a lot of guys are asses
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?- Breaking out of the mold that I had made for myself, and venturing off to do new things, like writing
9. What was your biggest failure?- Failing to recognize my own failure
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?- Do my wisdom teeth count? They were pretty bad, and hurt a whole lot
11. What was the best thing you bought?- Too many, but my Daddy's birthday shoes were the funniest
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?- Sara, my beta, who was always there to encourage me when I got stuck, and cheered me on. And my Grandmother, who is stronger than I ever thought possible
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?- Chris and VH Rich, who are both scum under the scum under the scum of the earth
14. Where did most of your money go?- I'm a poor college student, where do you think?
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?- Helping with the Seasonal Passions Fic Exchange
16. What song will always remind you of 2004?- Without You, The Deuce Project... don't ask, and California Girls, The Beach Boys... I know, niether were 2004 hits, but I have my reasons
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Happier
b) thinner or fatter? Ironically, thinner, despite all the Turkey and wallowing chocolate, and Richard's use of me as a test dummy for his cooking school classes
c) richer or poorer? Have you seen my bank statement?
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?- Not taking certain peoples crap, and hand off more work to others, rather than try to do it all myself
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?- Screwing up, and stooping to certain peoples levels
20. How will you be spending Christmas?- Well, I spent my Christmas at home, with my family, stuffing mushrooms with my aunt and making my Daddy and Mike watch The Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Engagement
21. Did you fall in love in 2004?- Yes, and no
22. How many one-night stands?- I'm just a good little Catholic girl, so no
23. What was your favorite TV program?- Friends, which I spent days wallowing after the last episode, Gilmore Girls, a perennial favorite, and One Tree Hill, which I tried so hard to fight, but damn that CMM and his hot body! I had no chance from the first episode I watched
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?- Hate is a strong word, but yeah, a few deserving members have been put in the room: George and Melissa, for causing such upheval and breaking up the Izod family, which is now Fatherless; Chris for his betrayal; and VH Rich, who even now doesn't get it
25. What was the best book you read?- The Five People You Meet in Heaven, Mitch Albom; and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Ann Brasheres
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?- Damien Rice
27. What did you want and get?- My NEW cd player, and GG on dvd
28. What did you want and not get?- One last Christmas with my Granpa, and my mistletoe moment
29. What was your favorite film of this year?- The Notebook, as I saw it like, four times, HP3, and National Treasure
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?- Hung out with some loved ones, and turned twenty
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?- Having the courage to tell that stupid oblivious IZ Richard how I feel about him, and have him feel the same
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?- Simple, classic lines, which accentuated my God given assets, in a tasteful way, of course, I'm a classy girl, after all
33. What kept you sane?- My work family, Richard, Nicole, PJ, Noreen, Matt, and my mom, dad, and my baby sister, who always knows how to make it better, despite her tender age
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Top 5: CMM; Vin Diesel; Jude Law; Damien Rice, and my Broadway Guy
35. What political issue stirred you the most?- Stupid, illy educated celebrities using their 'clout' to try and dazzle Americans away from the issues. (ie- Ben Affleck, Madonna, Cher, Michael Moore) or is that not a political issue? Other than that, probably the war, and the elections
36. Who did you miss? - My Grandpa, Kyle, and my friends who aren't here with me now
37. Who was the best new person you met?- Amy and Sara, who are such amazing writers themselves, who inspired me, and encouraged me along the way with my own writing.
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004- Blood is thicker than water, but friendship is stonger and longer than both
39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year-
I sing to life, and to its tragic beauty
To Pain and to stife, and all that dances through me
The rise and the fall
I've lived through it all
Josh Groban, Canto Alla Vita
So there you have it, 2004 all in a nice neat little package!
